An extraordinary work by California artist John Reif depicting Christian television evangelist Jim Bakker in his prime. This is one of seven original oil paintings of different genres from the 1980\'s by John Reif that we acquired recently from a Pasadena estate. You will also enjoy taking a look at a companion painting \"Censored PTL\" that we have listed in our VintageVisions store, presumably a portrait of Jessica Hahn. PTL is a reference to the Praise The Lord Club of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker of that period. Oil on canvas and measuring 48 x 36 inches. In the photos you will note a number of scratches on the canvas, especially near the bottom of the painting that could easily be touched up if desired by an art restoration expert.
