Original Steam Engine / Locomotive Bell - New York Central (NYC) 0-8-0 Switcher

This is a vintage used item, and as such, is being sold \"as is\". Please examine the pictures thoroughly and ask any questions before offerding or buying.

This bell was salvaged in the early to mid 1950\'s. It is believed to have come from a New York Central switcher engine that operated around Doughton Junction which was the interchange with the Erie Railroad in the Youngstown - Hubbard, Ohio area. Numbers punch stamped on top are: 1334, 7825 and 7869. NYC locomotive rosters published on the Internet list both 7825 and 7869 as USRA 0-8-0 engines owned by the New York Central.

The bell itself measures 14-1/2\" diameter x 11\" high. The yoke (which has been reversed) measures 12\" wide out/out, 9-1/2\" wide in/in, 7\" high, and the mounting holes are 1-1/8\" diameter. The weight is estimated to be 75 to 100 lbs.
