This is anORIGINAL USAAF Type E-17 Survival Kit issued to pilots and other aircrewmen during WWII. The kit is comprised of an OD canvas pouch with a 1910 wire hanger for attachment to a pistol belt,one celluloid flask which contained minor foodand personal miscellaneous items, an ESM/1 Emergency Signal Mirror in the originalcardboard and second flask which contained medical-related items (seelayout images of each). All of the components are in very good+ unusedcondition. I purchased this kit from a former C-47 pilot who flew the \"Hump\". Although not all of the original contents are present, this would be a good \"starter\" kit from which to build.
