This sale offers an antique sterling tray by Gorham. The heavy repousse border is incredible - the deep scrolls and swirls remind me of chrysanthemums. The tray is date coded with a production date of 1880 (see pictures) so itis 135 years old this year!

This is a heavy tray for its size. It measures 11-1/4 inches across and weighs 1 pound 3 ounces or 540 grams. The heavy repousse border offers a perfect display for a special piece of art (see picture examples).

The interior of the tray is engraved but we cannot decipher the monogram – it looks more like an ornate decoration. The flat interior section does have some minor scratches and very shallow pings (see pictures) commensurate with age. The wide, repousse border is perfect – no dents, dings, bends, scratches, or problems of any kind.
