Size: Both 6\" tall
A) Girl with Wheat & Sheep.....This piece has some damage. Unfortunately, upon inspection, it has been re-glued in the waist area. A 1/4\" portion of the lace collar on her right-hand side is missing (see photos). She was probably holding a flower or wheat in her right hand, but it is missing. Lace at the bottom of her dress in back have some very small missing pieces. Re-glue job has been fairly well done, so not very noticeable.
B) Boy with Wheat & Dog......This piece is very good, with the exception of a small portion of the lace bow in the front that is missing (see photos).
These pieces are hand-painted with very fine details in vivid colors! The construction and attention to detail is amazing, especially in their faces, eyes, lips and also the individual blades of grass and flower petals. They are both lovely old pieces!!!
I\'m NOT a porcelain expert. From what I found on the internet, these pieces MAY be Capodimonte San Marco Italy. possibly made from 1904-1945 or....Sommer & Matschak of Schlaggenwald. Both are marked on the bottom with a blue 5 point crown with \"SM\" in the center with a blue \"N\" underneath. The girl has another \"N\" impressed into the base with a line underneath and also a \"D\" impressed into the pottery, along with the blue maker\'s mark. The boy has the blue maker\'s mark, along with a \"N\" or \"Z\" impressed into the base of the pottery. Both have gilt brush strokes along their bases.
