James Prestini was the first contemporary wood turner to be recognized by a museum; the Museum of Modern Art began acquiring his works in 1949, recognizing them for their clean designs. Prestini found inspiration in the wood objects of his Nordic contemporaries such as Kay Bojesen and Tapio Wirkkala. This plate shows Prestini\'s precision as well as his use of the wood\'s grain as a design element.Size: 7/16 x 9 3/8 in.
