Pair of large silver wire Japanese cloisonné vases one damaged :
$700.00

This wonderful pair of “mirror image” cloisonné vases date from around 1900. They are both signed with the Buddhist bell stamp. They are about 12 inches tall. As you can see in the one picture one has a 4 inch long crack on the back. On the same vase the bronze collar on the inside of the lip has slipped down a fraction of an inch. The other vase is in excellent condition with no damage. Each vase depicts iris flowers and bitter melon fruit against a graduated pale blue wireless enamel. The silver wire workmanship, size and stamp all indicate that these are of high quality done by a good craftsman or studio.
