Delightful Matching Pair of Rare Twin Handle Vases from Royal Doulton\'s \"Dutch Harlem\" collection - D1886.
At a time when Holland, and all things Dutch were \'de rigueur\', Royal Doulton produced various themed pieces. Designed by Charles Noke and introduced in 1904, and in production until 1943, \'Dutch Harlem\' was one of Royal Doulton\'s most popular designs of all their series-warepatterns.
Wonderfully decorated, the vases feature people in traditional Dutch attire, including an elderly couple, walking along a cobbled path by the beach, (perhaps the famous Scheveningen Beach?), with high masted boats in the background.
Decoration is completed with bands of pale green, above and below the central view, with black trim to the upper vase rim. 2 beautifully stylish handles to each vase.
The vases, which measure 4\"/10cms high and 2.6\"/6.75cms in diameter, are in lovely condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing.
Backstamps read \"Royal Doulton / England / Copyright\" D1886 is hand-paintedand 6930 is impressed.
