Paul Herzel is a famed American animal sculptor, painterand illustrator who lived from 1876 to 1956. This bronze clad bear/bull set of bookends has been in our familysince the 1950’s. The date of 1922 is found next to Paul Herzel\'s name on eachpiece. The Bull’s horn and ear show minor cracks in the cladding. There are alsominor dings in the bases but typical of pieces 91 years old. The bronze coveringhas a very nice chocolate colored patina. The bull stands 7 inches tall and approximately7 inches long. The bear stands almost six inches to the shoulders and is approximately7 inches long. The pair weighs about 7 3/4 pounds. Please view my otheritems – thanks.
