Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil, called \"The Magnanimous\". Progressive monarch that abolished slavery in 1852 . Signed 1851 letter to his father in law, Ferdinand II, king of the Two Sicilies. Mourning letter with black borders and an intact black seal, for the recent death of the Emperor son. In the letter Pedro offers his condolences to Ferdinand for the death of his uncle, the Prince of Salerno. Mailing folds and corrosion caused by the ink on the edges; otherwise, fresh and in very good condition. Beautiful and rare royal correspondence.
