A scarce Danzig (Gdansk)-production pen:

Distinct diamond-shaped clip;
usual single cap ring, but here unusually in steel, and with no trace of plating;
14 karat broad (0.9 mm) nib with early imprint, in a sound unit with original feed;
cap, binde & filling mechanism in black celluloid, not hard rubber;
123 mm (47/8\") long;
original synthetic gasket in excellent condition.

Pelikan\'s “100N” series was introduced just prior to World War II. Probably for economic reasons a facility was set up in the city of Danzig (now Gdansk), Poland, and a limited number of pens were produced from there. These pens are now quite hard to find.

This pen was found in a mixed sale lot in 2016, and we have had it professionally inspected and cleaned, but have not exchanged or modified any parts. The nib is lively, responsive, very flexible, and writes with a broad, wet line. The filling system works well, and the pen holds 1.8 mL of ink.

This pen is in very good condition. It has some minor wear due to use. Barrel clarity is good, with no sign of crazing. The cap imprints are clear and strong; there are no signs of green fill in them. There are two minor spots of what appears to be heat damage, and an area of minor surface abrasion, to the binde (see final photo for details). We have not polished or buffed the plastic parts of this pen.
