Penny McAllister was a wonderful folk-art designer who createdwhimsical characters and, unfortunately, was taken too early in life in2010. In 2003 she began licensing her originaldesigns to Midwest of Cannon Falls. Thisparticular pair of mixed media boy and girl bunny figures were created andsigned by Penny McAllister in 2004. They are original paper-mache pieces signedby the artist. This sale is for the sweet little girl bunny only. Her mate,or matching boyfriend, is a separate sale though we are willing to sell themtogether at a negotiated price from what they are listed for individually. PennyMcAllister’s mixed media creations, like this one, are absolutely adorable inevery way. This sweet female paper-mache bunny is dressed in her Easter bestcomplete with cotton lace shawl and kerchief in her pocket! Both shawl andkerchief are embellished with colorful glass beads. One gold bootie clad footis shyly pointed inward and sets the mood for this very pretty piece. Herbeautiful porcelain like paper-mache head has soft brown eyes with ahint of blush on each cheek. Her light blue tea length dress flairs just enoughat the hem to reveal her well-formed little cotton tail peeking out on the back. She measuresapproximately 12 ½ inches tall and is signed on the base “Penny McAllister 2004”.Her arms are made separately and are attached with pins which hook to otherpins in her body at the shoulders under her lace shawl. I personally have not seen thisdesign before and though I do not know if this is the only pair I do believethey are very special. Stock number 0648.
