This is a monumental late 19th century Persian silver tea service with tray.

Signed.

Completely hand crafted.

Tapering urn form in-swept at shoulder. Beautifully hand carved grinning demon set amidst berry and vine. In scallop frame medallion. Alternating with twin pheasant and fire lotus united by all over swirling floral.

The covers with diamond surface lotus finial.

Pheasant and floral decorated swan\'s neck spouts.

Inset mother of pearl handles. A design feature seen on the finest Persian silver wares.

The scallop edge serving tray with conforming grinning demon head, pheasant and all over lush floral.

Persian demon coffee pot 10 inches 38 standard ounces.

Teapot 10 1/2 inches handle to spout 33 1/2 ounces.

The sugar vase 9 1/2 inches 27 1/2 ounces. Creamer 7 1/2 inches 19 ounces.

Tray 19 1/2 inches 75 ounces.

The entire set weighs 193 standard ounces.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina throughout. The hand carved demon head, fire lotus and floral work retain their original detail. Stands firm on table. Mild wear, tiny chip from MOP insert one handle.
