I purchased this book at an estate sale that was selling books from the estate of Joseph Melrose, an ex American Ambassador to Sierra Leone. It has two different covers, both unattached and there is no spine. I have not had the signature of Ulysess S Grant authenticated. There are a few loose pages, but the binding is tight within the book. This could be a great book to be rebound. The book measures about 6 1/2\" X 9 1/2\" and contains 584 pages. It states there are two volumes. This is volume one. Any questions, please ask.
