Offered in celebration of the 72nd Anniversary of Annette\'s birth... born in Utica, New York on October 22, 1942.

Item: Annette\'s personal 14k gold charm commemorating her early training in ballet and dance. DuringEaster weekof 1955...her lead performance in \"Swan Lake\" at Burbank\'s Starlight Bowlwould find acertain Mr. Walt Disney in the audience that evening. He had attended the performance along with several others from the Walt Disney Studio to scout for children to star in an upcoming television program called the \"Mickey Mouse Club.\" For Annette... balletwas where it all began.

Date: circa 1960

Features: Annette\'s 14k gold charm featuring a ballet dancer holding a pearl... accented with mounts for ten gemstones (possiblyred rubyor dark sapphires; unconfirmed); though one stone has been lost. It appears that thesinglestonewas bumped fromthe mountingand unknowinglylostmanyyears ago (perhaps even in the 1960\'s) as Annette had not worn these charms in recentyears. Annette\'s precious jewelryfrom these early years was retired and secured in her Encinohome and was later transferred to her home near Bakersfield.

Approx. 1.25\". Other than an unidentified markers mark and the 14k gold reference mark, there is no other engraving on the reverse of this charm.

Annette often received gold charms from her friends at special occasions during her teenage years (birthday, graduation, Christmas, etc.). The piece is not dated and there is no indication as to exactly whenitwas received; though it was worn on a bracelet with the otherdated charms that she hadreceived at her high school graduation party in 1960.

Condition: Excellent; marked 14k. There is no makers mark on the charm. Our scale indicates a weight of 12.8 grams.

Provenance: item is \"as found\" within Annette\'s collection of precious jewelry.

Annette wanted these personal items from her own collection to beused to benefit those whocontinue tosufferfrom the impact of neurological diseases. For the few dollars needed to obtain one of the treasured items from her collection...it wasAnnette\'s hope thateveryone can take part in her greatest dream: to find the cause, the treatments, and the cure for Multiple Sclerosis and diseases like MS.

Includes signed Certificate of Authenticity on behalf of the Annette Funicello Research Fund.

Personally selected and authorized by Mr. Glen Holt for the exclusive benefit of the Annette Funicello Research Fund for Neurological Diseases. Glen and Annette were married on May 3, 1986 and together in 1993 they founded the Fund for the purpose of researching the cause, the treatment and the cure for Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological diseases. Glen faithfully cared for Annette until her passing on April 8, 2013. He continues to carry forward Annette\'s work now as the Chairman of the Board of Advisors for the Annette Funicello Research Fund.
