Philippine Kalinga Chief\'s Iron \"Head-Hunting\" Axe from the Central Luzon Highlands c.1890-1910
Measures ~25 1/4\' in length and ~15\" wide. The handle alone is ~22\"The metal neck is ~9 1/2\". The wooden lower handle is overlaid with what appears to decorative thin brass. The end is covered with a decorative silver colored metal that measures ~3\".
Very good condition. Oldpatinato the metal and wood. Lite oxidation/rusting to the blade. Could be easily removed, but we\'ve decided to leave it untouched.
The last picture above shows a Kalinga warrior with asimilar Chief\'s Axe.
