This small, old clam shell originated from the Solomon Islands, Melanesia, where it was once used as currency. It has a weathered smooth surface, bleached whitish in colour. The inside circle has been made by cutting from each side and creating an hourglass shape, a sign of an early piece. Part of a missionaries collection. Meas: 7cms diameter, inside diameter 3cms.
