Matching Set of 2 Portraits of Sad Men ~ Mid Century Modern Expressionist Fauvist Paintings ~ Free Shipping Oil painting on particle board. Frame made of teak colored wood and lighter colored particle board. The style of the paintings have the bold lines and somber hues of German Expressionism, although it was most likely painted in the USA. Circa 1930-1960.

Mark: Unsigned. Label on back says: Raymond and Raymond Hartford Connecticut. Raymond and Raymond had its main gallery in NYC. I\'ve found it listed on an artist resume for a group show in 1939. They also had a location in Hartford and sold both original art and reproduction prints.

Painting - 9 x 16.75 inches (each)

Condition: See photos and use zoom to fully evaluate condition. Frames have light scratches/wear mostly on corners, one has 2 white smudges, a couple of moisture spots on bottom of one frame. The paintings have some deterioration of the particle board on the edges and corners, which could be touched up. Not perfectly centered.

These paintings are VERY HEAVY so the free shipping, handling time and price reflect that.
