This is an extremely rare first edition copy of Ernest Lindley\'s \"Franklin D. Roosevelt: A Career in Progressive Democracy\" that has been signed and inscribed by President Roosevelt while he was president.
It appears Roosevelt gave a few of these books as presents to some family members and his closest friends. All signed books by Roosevelt are quite rare, but this title is particularly so, with the few that are available starting at $3,500 on dealer websites.
This book is in good condition, with very light spotting to the front and back covers. The spine is color toned with a slight tear in the middle and some fraying at the ends. The inside of the covers are toned (is almost always the case with this book), including on the signed page, and there is a pencil book dealer notation.
The book is solid, the hinges are sound, and Franklin D. Roosevelt\'s signature and inscription remain quite bold.
