Original Harper\'s Weekly, New York, September 21, 1901. Mourning the assassination of President McKinley. Cover is very patriotic. 22 pages of great content and images. Article about his last days in office and images. Great portrait of the first lady. Also featured is content on Teddy Roosevelt, as he\'s taking over the office with information about his life and images of him. Also images from the funerals of Lincoln and Garfield. The cover has some creases and a tear that lies flat at top left hand corner, secured with archival tape on cover. This tear goes a couple pages into the newspaper. There is an additional secured tear that lies flat on right hand side of cover too. However inside pages are nice.

Original Vanity Fair color illustration of President McKinley. Dated 2/2/1899. Entitled \"An American Protector\". Lithograph by Vincent Brooks Day & Son. Flagg is the artist name. Nice handsome portrait of the President. Approx 10\" x 16\". Very delicate condition. Several tears that lie flat, that have been supported with tape on verso. Some chips and knicks. There is a dark stain on right hand side. Chip out of top right hand corner. Knick out of top middle. Definitely showing wear but still if was framed. would be a nice display.
