We made this table runner quilt from a very early, c1850s larger quilt.
This early quilt has a light cream background and faded pieces that are now a mauve color.
It is hand quilted at 8-9 stitches per inch and there little spots of grid work have squares that measure 1/4\" x 1/4\".
It is hand bound.
It measures 40\" x 12 1/2\"
The early pieces are faded to a mauve pink, some are faded a little more than others, there are tiny holes where the early print used to be, a lentil size surface hole, 1/4\" tear that goes all the way through, a quarter size residue spot on the back and a fold line also on the back. There is also light age tanning and some light speckled spotting in one corner that was too light to photograph.
Great, one of a kind, SO EARLY piece for the primitive home!
