QUALITY STERLING SILVER MUG TANKARD CHRISTENING CUP FROM THE SQUIRE ANTIQUE 1913:

A very good quality sterling silvermug. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1912 and the makers marks JR for JohnRose. It has a traditional design and interesting has been inscribed ‘ArthurPhillips from THE “SQUIRE” 24thApril 1913\', i.e. presented in the peaceful time just over a year before the horrors of WWI. It is in super conditionbeing free from dings splits and repairs. It measures 3 5/8 inches (9cms) tall bya touch under 2.5 inches (6.1cms) diameter at the widest and weighs 2.6 troy ounces (79 grams). Agood quality interesting piece.
