This is a lovely antique cabinet sized doll, dressed splendidly in a ? Russian Cossack uniform. The doll mould no is 448 which I believe is attributed to the Polish firm Szrajer & Fingerhut. These dolls are hard to find.He measures approx 12 inches with the hat, and has his original auburn coloured mohair wig.The doll has a bisque socket head, with fixed glass eyes, 4 teeth, nicely painted brows , top and bottom painted eyelashes, and pierced ears.He comes on a fully articulated composition body.The outfit is splendid, comprising of a furry black Cossack hat,mustard coloured tunic coat with tie belt and leather sheath, black felt trousers, blue leggings and brown leather boots.There is no damage to the bisque head...no chips , cracks or hairlines, but there is a small black firing line on the side of the head, and the head is also a little loose.One hand has the tips of the fingers missing.I am unable to remove the clothing as they are sewn securely to the doll.This is a rare opportunity to acquire such a lovely doll in a marvellous outfit, in a nice cabinet size all ready to display.
