This is an Original 18th century Virginia--a partly-printed/partly-handwritten sheriff\'s \"WRIT/ARREST WARRANT\", from Taunton, County of Bristol, Massachusetts, dated \"1774\".Singlesheet, two-sided (back/reverse side endorsed w/handwritten notations). Size: approx. 8\" by 8 1/2\". Handwritten in brown ink on fine, laid paper. Nice Condition; document has been folded several times (and unfolded) and there is a long tear along one the the old \"fold-lines\" + document has a second, longer diagonal tear on the left-hand side; otherwise, o.k. ...Handwritten Sheriff\'s Writ, dated \"this fifteenth Day of August in the fourteenth. Year of Our Reign. Annoque Domini, 1774\". The Sheriff of Bristol County is ordered to arrest SAMUEL WILD for Unpaid Debts. (***Please Note: This document was made BEFORE Massachusetts became a state and is from the Province of Massachusetts-Bay, during the Reign of King George III). Document has a Wonderful RED WAX SEAL at the top, left-hand corner front (these old seals rarely remain intact due to their fragility; this one is largely intact!)
