Offered for sale is this antique Civil War Era Photo Album filled with hand colored lithographs and early hand colored photographic printed images all in miniature coming in at about 4\" by 2 1/2\", give or take a little! This is a very rare and different album and has been in my own collection for about 2 years now. I purchased it at an antique sale in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Some of the \"cards\" are dated back into the 1860\'s, while some are c1870\'s-c1890\'s. There are a total of 37 prints here, most of which are hand colored but there are 2 that are not colored, and a few that have the appearance of being chromolithographs. Most of the images are of people and scenes, but it does end with a Sailing Gunship! The album measures about 5 1/2\" by 4 1/2\" making it a rather small photo album. It is monogrammed with gilded initials on the front hardcover that reads, \"F.D.Z.\". The gold on the spine that reads ALBUM also is very good. The leather covers and spine are worn as is the edges as to be expected from the age of it. There is a loose blank page in the front of the album. The spine has separated as shown in the one photo. It is missing a white \"foot\" on the rear cover as can be seen in the photos also. Nonetheless, this still is a very unusual album that has a great old \"antique\" look to it! The titles of some of the images were penciled in at the bottom of some of the pages and there is also the name of a previous owner on the back of one card in pencil from Himrod, Yates County, New York.
