RARE ANGLO INDIAN STERLING SILVER TAJ MAHAL CIGARETTE CASE c1920-1940 ANTIQUE:

A superb Anglo IndianColonial sterling silver cigarette case. It is hallmarked STERLING SILVER andtests as such. It has been superbly made with the front being engraved with theimage of the Taj Mahal and back a highly detailed map of India and thesurrounding countries. The inside has been engraved \'To R. Yorke FROM Capt H.James\' hence possibly a military connection. Note it does not show Pakistan so must pre date its 1947 formation – Iwould date it to c1930’s. It is in super condition being free from dings splitsholes and repairs. It measures 4 inches (10.2cms) by 3.25 inches (8.2cms) andweighs 134 grams. A super quality rare and interesting piece.
