Description Asuperb rare English antique Victorian solid sterling silver rotating chatelaine pin cushion wheel, by the silversmiths Sampson Mordan & Co,and with full English silver hallmarks forLondon 1876.Excellentquality genuine 139 year old example, a silver frame holds 2 rotating circular silver panels and hasa velvet covered cushion in the centre which is almost certainly original. Comes complete itsoriginal largehallmarked silverattachment ring and there are noadded personal engraved monograms. Direct from a private estate.

Measurements Measures approx1.8 inches (47mm) x 1.45 inches (34mm) and is 0.7 inches (18mm) deep.

Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks forLondon 1876(date letter \"A\").Excellent clear struck matching hallmarks in 3 separate places and include the Queen head duty stamp of Queen Victoria. Further silver hallmark on the attachment ring.Maker Silversmiths initials \"S.M\", (Sampson Mordan & Co).ConditionLovelycondition, no splits or cracks, no solder repairs, and no knocks or dents, a nice clean example. The pin cushion spins perfectly on the silver frame, the velvet cushion is almost certainly the original, it is a bit squashed and could probably do with replacing, a simplejob to do as the side panels will come off easily. Complete with its silver attachment ring and with no added personal inscriptions.Superb veryunusual sewing item and direct from a private estate.
