Late 19th/Early 20th Century Antique German Terracotta Figurine LampTHIS IS A BEAUTIFUL TURN OF THE CENTURY GERMAN TERRACOTTA LAMP WITH BRONZE FILAGREE BASE. THERE ARE MAKERS MARKS THAT HAVE BEEN RESEARCHED WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE LAMP WAS APPRAISED AT BONHAMS IN LOS ANGELES AT A PRICE OF $700-$900. IT IS LIKELY THAT THIS WAS ONE OF A PAIR OF LAMPS.
AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, THERE IS VERY LITTLE INFORMATION. WE HAVE SPOKE WITH MANY ANTIQUE AND SPECIALTY DEALERS IN LA, AND THE GENERAL CONCENSUS IS THAT IN ITS PRESENT CONDITION (ELECTRONICS NOT WORKING AND MINOR DAMAGE-W-ORIGINAL PATINA) THIS LAMP IS WORTH APPROX. $400-600 AT RETAIL.
The lamp is 100% original condition. There are a few very minor damages, but nothing to take from the value of the lamp. The electronics are \"NOT\" in working condition, but we have been told that to upgrade would not be difficult or too costly. The entire lamp stands at just under 38\" tall.
