RARE Antique Victorian 1885 JSB John Septimus Beresford Sterling Silver Ink Well. Ink well is in nice condition for being about 132 years old. It does have some tarnish under the lid. I researched the marks and in order--Maker: \"JSB\" is John Septimus Beresford, Silver Standard Mark is the \"Lion Passant\", City Mark is thr \"Uncrowned Lion\" for London, Date Code \"N\" is for 1885, and the Duty Mark is \"Queen Victoria\". The base is 6 inches across and it is 4 1/2 inches tall. The base (silver only) weighs approximately 106 grams (3.8 oz). I did not weigh the lid because I do not want to try and remove it and break it, but I\'m guessing at least another 14 grams (.5 oz) atleast. It is engraved with a name on it, Edward Smith.
