- DESIGN: A very rare and truly unique Industrial Machine Age Art Deco styled Coil Spring Tension Lamp manufactured by Edon Lighting Co. circa 1920. The lamps arms adjust from the mounting base via 4 ring shaped spring tensioned joints positioned from the main support tube on up through the socket/shade assembly joint. The lamps structure can be positioned in an endless array of configurations vertically as well as horizontally from the third ring. Manufactured completely of molded steel, spring steel and solid Brass throughout (aside from the heavy cast iron support base). These Coil Spring lamps are extremely rare and this particular 4 coil version is the largest one I have ever seen, combined with its fine condition it just does not get any better...you probably won\'t see something like this one again!
- CONDITION: This amazingly engineered lamp is in exceptional original condition, completely intact andfully functional. Light finish wear and mild patina to the Brass with no damage or repair issues aside from the very top tension spring - it appears that the topmost coil seperated and has been resecured with an internal wire - it still functions as it should and holds proper tension. Original Bryant paddle switch socket has been inspected and is functional and safe, power cord has been replaced with appliance grade insulated wire. The solid Brass dome shaped shade is super clean with no damage evident. The original mounting bracket has been fixed to an additional cast iron disk weight for support as a free standing lamp, it can easily be removed if a direct wall/ceiling/table hard mounting is desired.
- DIMENSIONS: This large substantial lamp stands approx. 26\" high in the shown fixed position and approx. 20\" wide, the main extension arm is 16\" long and the shade is 6.5\" diameter…filament bulb are NOT included.
