Original HUGE 13 1/2\" DiameterAntique Colonial Period Pewter TRENCHER (also called a CHARGER) SERVING PLATE, c.1760 - 1780

DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....very heavy,LARGE COLONIAL PEWTER TRENCHER or CHARGER. 13 1/2\" diameter. Deeparea for food. The trencher was the largest plate used, primarily as a servingplate to serve food to individuals in the family. They usually did not haveplatters and would use this instead.

Can be used as a functional item or as a SUPER ANTIQUE OR COLONIAL PERIOD DECORATIVE ITEM. This is a VERY EARLY PIECE and I wouldestimate c. 1760 - 1780, possibly earlier.

It is in very good condition overall with very niceaged patina. This was from a local New England estate and comes from my personalcollection.
