RARE Lightolier Gerald Thurston Mid Century VTG 60s modernist lamp:
$455.00
Rare Gorgeous Modernist Walnut and Brass and blown-glass lamp, from Lightolier circa 1960-63
Beautiful lamp that combines the sleek, modernist tone of the \'Profile\' lamps, with a high-style Tommi Parzinger feel.
All original. Off white brass-rimmed base, supports a tapered walnut column. Curved brass arms with a darker brass finish, hold 3 blown glass shades with a subtle over-lapping ribbon pattern.I have only seen the equally gorgeous floor lamp version before (provided for reference).
Modernism with a small nod toclassically styled lamps. Elegant sophistication.
Condition:All very good. Switch turns on one, two or all three. Ingenious threaded metal rings hold the glass shades in place.Just about 30 inches tall.
As a mid century lamp lover, collector and seller, my philosophy is simple and two pronged;1) RARITY AND BEAUTY
One can easily buy a great $1000 contemporary lamp from Holly Hunt or Circa lighting, or Flos (to name a few) but the lamps I sell
will never be produced again and I appreciate their rarity.
2) HONESTY
I never sell \"Frankenstein\" lamps (odd pieces slapped together, slathered in new paint (oddly enough usually fire engine red) and passed off as having an exotic (usually Italian, or Gino Sarfatti ) origin.
Buyer beware, I say!
