You are viewing a MENS RARE, VINTAGE CIRCA 1960-1970, OLD PAWN HEAVY LARGE NAVAJO NATIVE AMERICAN 925 STERLING SILVER BISBEE TURQUOISE GEMSTONE SANDCAST SUN RING.  Size 12.5.  Please view all the photos as they will let you know what you will receive and are the primary and integral part of the description.   One (1) natural deep blue Bisbee turquoise  cabochon gemstone is the focus of this amazing ring. It is sawtooth set with sunshine rays surrounding it.  The sun is the Native American symbol for great happiness. The ring is 1.10 inches (2.8 cm) high; and the shank is .24 inches (.6 cm) wide.  There appears to be no maker\'s mark that I can clearly see (it may be one under the patina, possibly a pictograph, but not for certain).  See photos. The ring is hallmarked, \"Sterling,\" for 92.5% pure silver.  The ring has a substantial weight of about 20 grams.  [Note:  Any pink color is the reflection of my pink phone.]

Bisbee turquoise is one of the most sought-after turquoise, only to be found from collectors and investors seeking a high price for their investment.  It is favored mainly for its deep blue color tone and unusual \"smoky\" matrix pattern, only found from the Bisbee Mine, Arizona.   The Bisbee Mine opened in the 50\'s as a copper mine; not a turquoise mine!  The large quantities of Bisbee turquoise found were \"dumped\" like rubbish!  It was a good thing many employees of the mining company took home the turquoise (what could be carried and hidden in their lunch pails).  This continued until the early 70\'s, until someone figured out there was value to these beautiful blue stones and gained the rights to what remained at the mine.  The Bisbee Mine has been closed since the mid-70\'.
