A rare and unusual Victorian solidsterling silver sealing wax holder. It is hallmarked for London 1899 with the maker’smarks being SC for Stuart Clifford. Ithas been unusually designed having grip ends of a sprung section which iscontrolled by a sliding bar hence loosening or tightening the grip on the sealing wax –simple but ingenious. It is in super condition being free from dings splits andrepairs. It measures 4 inches (10cms) long by 1.25 inches (3.1cms) wide andweighs26 grams. A very unusual piece sure to prove an interestingaddition to any desk.
