RARE VICTORIAN NOVELTY WRITING SET DIP PEN MECHANICAL PENCIL TRAVELLING INKWELL:

This is for a rare version of a Victorian noveltywriting set dating to the late 1800s. The set comprises a pencil,a reversible dip pen and an inkwell. The pencil is the barrel and pulls out for use, it is sprung so that when you push it in with the button in any other place than the very top it automatically retracts the nozzle, and when you pull it out again it is ready for use. The dip pen is concealed in the wooden handle, you pull out the little loop and the pen emerges,reverse the nib clip round for use...finally the inkwell can be opened when the pencil is fully removed, it has a seal in the lid that keeps the ink sealed for transit... although i haven\'t tested this!!. Its a rare version, more usually you have fire the pencil out or the front of the chamber spins round to find a separate little inkwell inside, its the only one i have seen like this actually madeas a travelling inkwell.It is in excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere, there are a couple of little dings on thevery end of thelittle pen, you only see them when you pull it out, not when you reverse it round for use...and thats all really, barthe very light surface wear you can see in the pics its in really good order, there are no dents to the body, no splits or holes and no repairs or restorations, its a really nice example of a rare travelling inkwell. It measures roughly 140mm long.
