Description: The Henry Altemus Company was a publisher based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for almost a century from 1842 to 1936. The company published over two hundred different series. Marmion is part of the Vademecum Series, a multi-volume, multi-author series of books published from 1894 to 1926. The covers changed from year to year, so this series boasts more than 24 different covers. This 1897 edition with a gilt embossed floral cover is a rare find.

Condition: This vintage book is over one hundred years old and in good to very good condition. The hardcover shows some wear (see pictures), but the gilt on the cover is still bright. The inside pageshave tanneddue to aging but are in very good condition for the early late 1800s. No ripped, loose or missing pages. No bent corners, no writing or highlighting. The binding is tight. Note: there is a name written in ink on the second page and dated 1897.
