Eames plastic armchair RAR miniature from Vitra. The RAR chair (also known as the Rocking Armchair with Rod Base) was first presented as part of the famed New York Museum of Modern Art competition, \"Low Cost Furniture Design\". Their organically shaped seat shells made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic were later combined with various different bases, such as RAR\'s rockers and manufactured in their millions.The miniature version in is a coveted accessory and collectible – reproduced in exact detail with outstanding craftsmanship.The Eames Molded Rocker (1948), often known as the RAR (rocker height, armchair shell, rocking base), was out of production for 30 years before it was brought back with the blessings of the Eames Office. Set atop what\'s commonly referred to as the Eames Eiffel base, this Rocker has maple runners for a smooth rocking motion. Until 1968, Herman Miller also produced a rocking chair base. Every Herman Miller employee who was expecting a baby received the RAR as a gift until 1984.
Production notes:Each of the delicate objects are made by hand; on average, each miniature requires five hours of careful manual work. Ongoing quality control ensures that every miniature corresponds to its larger original in terms of finishing, details and materials.Details:
