Today we are offering a rare and unique store display piece.
This is a TOM\'S TOASTED PEANUT half jar.
From my research I discovered that this dates back to the 1950\'s.
These bowls were made for approximately 1 year.
There weren\'t many made.
They never had a lid. They were for counter top use.
They used these at new grocery store openings and were given away as door prizes.
They also usedthese to sell and display .01 cent candies and gum.
This glass bowl measures 7 1/4\" in diameter and 3 3/4\" high.
It\'s embossed on bottom and it reads: Prop. TOM\'S DISTB. NOT TO BE SOLD
The lettering around the bowl is done in dark blue and it reads: Enjoy Tom\'s Toasted Peanuts-always Fresh.
That is printed on and around both sides of the bowl.
This is in very nice, gently used vintage condition. I don\'t see any nicks, chips or cracks. The lettering all seems to be intact.
So if you\'ve been wanting to add something unique to your collection you just might want to consider this.
