Here is a first edition copy of Ernest Hemingway\'s For Whom the Bell Tolls. Published in 1940 by Scribners.
The book is in very good vintage condition. Binding is fairly tight. Pages are tanned from age. No pencil markings or water marks, with the exception of first page . No dust jacket.
Spine has slight tears from age. Library plate on inside cover, four pages slightly bent.
The pages are old fashioned cotton.
This would make a handsome gift for the book collector on your list.
