Description

NOTE: While the cover shows sign of its age with normal wear and tear and some toning, the scans tend to exaggerate the actual appearance making the cover look worse, and in some cases much worse, than it actually is. Be assured that I will note any significant appearance issues in the condition section below.

DESCRIPTION. This cover is postmarked on the election day of the 1940 campaign. FDR handily beat Wendall Willkie taking 38 states and 449 electoral votes compared to Willkie's 82. This was FDR's third consecutive Presidential term. He ran on keeping America out of the European war while fully realizing that we needed to help Britain fight Hitler. It was a very interesting time in American history. The cover is unusual since it is franked by a political stamp supporting Willkie. It is a last ditch attempt at campaigning. It will make a very interesting addition to a postal history collection.

VALUE. Unfortunately, this is another piece of postal history without any clearly assigned value. Therefore, you need to be the judge.

CONDITION. The cover is in pretty decent condition. It is sealed. The back envelope seams are slightly bleeding through (not visible from the front). Overall, it is a nice cover.

About Me I am nowat the age when I am starting to seriously think about simplifying my life. I have enjoyed stamp collecting since I was 10 years old and stamp investing since I was in my late 20\'s. Thanks to both and PSE, I have been a very active stamp purchaser for the last 15 years. Hardly a day goes by whenIdo not spend several hours on reviewing listings looking for thatgem that I can turn into atreasure. I am now going toshare my hoard with others. I amgetting back to selling after many years of just buying. I have a lot of very interesting items. I will also be selling some non-philatelic items and therefore my user name. Hopefully, you will find some itemsthat you want to include in your collection. I should be fully up and running listing daily sales by the early Fall. I truly believe in customer satisfaction having been on theother side of many transactions that disappointed me.I will make sure that dealing with me provides you with a very satisfying experience. Thank you, Ray L.
