A rare original manuscript Port of New York entry document for the Brig \"Eliza\" dated September 30, 1789 and signed by GENERAL JOHN LAMB as Port Collector and CAPTAIN BENJAMIN WALKER as Naval Officer....One page, size 6\" x 7 1/2\", docketed on reverse, hand made watermarked rag paper, some separation at folds, very good condition.....JOHN LAMB [1735-1800] was a leader of the Sons of Liberty in New York and an important commander of artillery in the Revolutionary War. He was wounded and captured at the battle of Quebec and later commanded the 2nd Continental Army Artillery at West Point and during the Yorktown campaign. His cannon opened the siege of Yorktown that ended the war. He was breveted Brigadier General in 1783, and was appointed Collector of the Port of New York by Congress in 1784.....BENJAMIN WALKER [1753-1818] served as aide-de-camp to General Von Steuben and later was a member of the staff of General Washington.
