These sketches are the first inspirational drawings for an oil painting by Roy G. Krenkel \"The Lady and the Leopards\". They date back to the mid 1970s, and given Roy\'s numerous studies for the painting it was a favorite theme of his. Here we see his beginning takes on the theme and these inspirational sketches were kept by the artist and never offered for sale in a box of drawings marked \"Not up For Grabs!\" This is the first time in almost 40 years that they are coming up for sale. The final oil painting which was reproduced I believe several times times seems to have disappeared from view. A special RGK ex libris plate titled \"Adventure\" will come for an extra charge of $2.00 Authentication from the RGK Estate will be sent on demand. Fans of Roy\'s art will be delighted to know that a new book on Roy\'s work will be coming out late in 2018 to celebrate the centenary of the artist\'s birth. It will contain reproductions of his artistic oeuvre with a faithfulness to the original works not hitherto not seen before. The book will span the artist\'s career from the 1930s until the last days of his life in the 1980s and will include many little known works as well as some of his illustrations for Robert E. Howard\'s The Scarlet Citadel, the last volume Roy was working on for Donald Grant Books but was never finished at the time of his demise. Never really satisfied with The Road of Azrael in which some of the color plates had to be rushed out to meet the publishing deadline set by Grant, this book was to be Krenkel\'s magnum opus, and a fitting tribute to one of his very favorite authors. Another volume dedicated to RGK\'s work titled Sirens and Swordswomen -The Women of Roy G. Krenkel is currently also in the planning stage. It was originally scheduled to be published in 2015 but was put on hold so that all the RGK Estate\'s energies could be focused on the former volume.
