This is a Royal Doulton Churchill bulldog which is draped in a Union Jack, wearing aTrinity cap and there is a cigar in his mouth. This Royal Doulton bulldog wasfirst issued in 1941 to commemorate Winston Churchill during the Second World War and this one was made in 1942.. It is the small size standing only 2 3/4 inches high and measuring 4 1/4 inches long. It was designed by Charles Noke and the bulldog has a cream background colour with navy cap and red white and blue Union Jack. On the base you can see the Royal Doulton trademark with the number 15 to the side which dates this exactly to the year production - 1942. The condition is good - there are no chips, cracks, damage or repairs to be found and the colours are bright and crisp. For accuracy in my description I will point out a couple of very, very tiny pin head loss to the glazeto the redon the Union Jack at the back and a couple of tiny stray paint smudges, which have been there since the bulldog was made, but nothing too serious or detracts in any way. May I point out that this bulldog wasvery dirty when I acquired it and although I have given it a clean it could probably do with another one!. This scarce smallRoyalDoulton Churchill bulldog, draped in a Union Jack, wearing a Trinity cap and completewith a cigar in his mouth, would make anh ideal gift or a great addition to any collection.
