Order of the Patriotic War WWII - 1st class. Type 3. Awarded both toofficers and men of the Soviet Army and Navy on the 40th Anniversary of the Victory over Germany in 1985.

The Order wasestablished on 20 May 1942. Its statute precisely defined, whichdeeds are awarded with the order, e.g. shooting down three aircraft as afighter pilot, or destroying two heavy or three medium or four light tanks, orcapturing a warship, or repairing an aircraft under fire after landing on ahostile territory, and so on, were awarded with the first class. In 1985, during the celebration of the 40th anniversaryof the victory in the Great Patriotic War, it was decided that all survivingveterans of the war would be awarded either 2nd or 1st class.

Descriptions: In excellent condition. The enamel isessentially perfect, no wear of any kind visible to the unaided eye. The enamelretains beautiful luster throughout. The golden starburst and hammer &sickle emblem are likewise pristine, free of noticeable dings or scratches. Thescrew post is full length, approx. 14 mm (measured from the Silver Star).Includes original screw plate.Sumptuous silver order will not be reproduced, this is not only investment andthis is great of superb memory monument.

Condition: Outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel isessentially perfect, free of any wear detectable by the naked eye, and withonly a few microscopic contact marks that can be barely found even under 10xmagnification. The gilt is completely intact, although it is partly obscured bysilver patina. Beautifully pristine stippling to the reverse. Comes on original1-piece suspension in aluminum with a original ribbon. Connecting link isoriginal and has not been cut.
