Rado Original Split-second Chronograph Limited Edition 139/200:
Additional InformationPrivate sale of one of Rado's rarest limited editions, theBasel 2007 SpecialSplit-Second Chronograph, limited to 200 pieces worldwide.
Bought new by me in 2007 from Tourneau, with an original retail price of $6,200, this is watch no. 139/200.
The edition number is engraved on the screw-down sapphire crystal exhibition case back, which shows the ETA 7770 Valjoux caliber movement, a rattrapante complication of the 7750 Valjoux movement which itself is probably the most successful automatic chronograph movement of all time, powering numerous luxury watches.
The silver dial, with black numerals, luminescent hands and indexes, has three counters and a mobile anchor representing the oscillating mass (in a small aperture at 4 o'clock, which oscillates as the rotor turns).
The functions of the rattrapante chronograph are activated by three pushers. Other features include luminescent hands and indexes, a titanium clasp and a screw-in crown.
Original box and papers are in as new condition and include: Rado Limited Edition Box with silk-screened limited edition black steel plate and push-button opener; Rado special-edition polishing cloth and standard cloth; Rado Chronograph split-second manual; COSC Certificate; Rado Basel Special Edition booklet with serial number signed by Rado Watch Co, president Roland Streule.
The watch will be shipped insured, at no added cost.
