We are offering for sale a rare example of aGeorgian silver Potato Fork in Old English pattern.
This large fork is similar in length to a contemporary basting spoon, but has a deeper, widerspoon bowlwith six fork tines. Called a potato fork for serving this vegetable, but in reality it has a wider practical scope as a general purpose server.
This elegant example has a good, crispcrest to the front terminal and a lovely all over patina. The bottom struck marks are typically squashed but legible.

MEASUREMENTS: 29.5cm (11.6\") long; 114 grams weight.
MARKS: Full set of English hallmarks (guaranteeing Sterling 925 standard silver) for London 1777, made by William Chatterton (WC).
