Rare 1760 Sevres Porcelain Falconet Gentleman Figurine Figure Porcelaine 18thC:

For sale isa great figurine made by Sevres in about 1760. It is made of biscuit porcelain (unglazed porcelain) and is of a gentleman dressed in fancy clothes. He is wearing a hat with feathers, a coat with a fancy collar, a button down shirt and nice pants with a sword by his side while standing on a square base with a tree stump to the back. The figure is superbly modeled and left in the white and unglazed to show off all that detail. The figurine is in decent condition with a small chip to the feather on his hat, a restored part to the hat, his right hand was off and the pinky is missing with some work having been done to the fingers and the handle of his sword. His head was off and has been restored back on. He does display very well and is an extremely detailed piece so the damage can be forgiven a bit. He could use a bit of a cleaning. The figure is marked with an incised F for Falconet and possibly a P but that might just be a flaw in the paste. He is 4.75 inches tall, 2.375 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep.
