These three rare original Ads were all printed on the same page in an 1863 issue of \"Harper\'s Weekly\" magazine. Two separate Revolver Ads and a third Ad for a Soldier\'s Bullet-Proof Vest:
1) Elliot\'s Pocket Revolver with Six Barrels. The length was 4 inches, \"scarcely more than that of the barrels\". Each rifled barrel could fire a cartridge \"which could be purchased in hardware stores\". The shots would penetrate \"one inch of pine at 150 yards\". Plated, with 100 cartridges, the gun was priced at $10.
2) Prescott\'s Cartridge Revolvers - \"By recent experiements made in the Army, these Revolvers were pronounced the best and most effective weapons in use\". The 8 inch model carried a Ball weighing 38 to the lb and the 4 inch version\'s ball weighed 80 to the the lb. Waterproof copper cartridges.
3) The Soldier\'s Bullet Proof Vest - \"...repeatedly and thoroughly tested with Pistol Bullets at 10 paces, Rifle Bullets at 40 rods...\" The Private\'s vest was $5, the Officer\'s Vest was $7.
This revolver ads measure 2 1/4\" x 5 1/2\". The Vest ad is 2 1/4\" x 3\". The full page measures 10 1/2\" x 15 1/4\". The Ads are in Excellent Condition.Very Clean.No tears, stainsor creases. Horizontal fold on the page goes through the Elliot\'s Ad. The paper iswhite/ivory and very flexible. A few age stains in the outside white margins (none of the ads are affected). Small chip in right margin. Light age toning.
