Rare 19th century Scottish Targe shield.
If your are a antique arms and armor collector or dealer then you know what this is and how hard it is to come by. They are know for there artwork on the front. the design on this one is extremely spectacular.
Through time many scottish targe shields never really \"Survived\" throughout history and been around the market. There are only a few antique ones i have seen in my life and i can count them with both hands.
It is in overall very very good condition for a targe shield. The front is absolutely beautiful, the leather is still in very solid good condition. the back however does show wear and leather flaking. the hand and arm band has wear. it is still intact not ripped off but i advise you not to wear it and play with it as it is very fragile.
