This is an extremely rare 19th century bronze of Archimedes and is signed E.(Emile Louis) Picault 1833- 1915. Picault was a prolific sculptor and this piece is exceptional! This is a large bronze 25 1/2\" tall and heavy 50 lbs. Excellent condition and great detail! There is an owl at his feet along with his tools of trade. He has his finger pointing at an open page ( Incredible detail) and his outstretched hand is holding a chemist\'s beaker. The bronze is also numbered 42221.
